Brunch might be my favourite thing about being an ‘adult’. I use the term loosely as majority of the time I feel like the below:
…does that feeling ever go away?
Anyway, back to Brunch. It is my new favourite way to either catch up with old friends or discuss the night before (and blow the cobwebs away with a Bloody Mary) with fellow trouble-makers or for a second/third date. Now, I have been sampling and rating brunch spots all over London for the last couple of the years and The Breakfast Club always ranks highly on my list.
It is unfortunately, not a well kept secret.
There are a few doted around London and the one I usually frequent is the one on Battersea Rise, but for this particular brunch trip, we went to the original one in Soho, hidden down cobbled streets behind a sunshine yellow door.
If you’re going on the weekend, expect to queue. They bring you shots of smoothie to keep you going which is a nice touch. Given that I am the most impatient person alive, I loathe queuing in all forms so this is the only thing that deters me from this place but the pancakes are worth the wait. Try and go early and it shouldn’t be too bad!
Punctuality isn’t really my strong suit…so I actually managed to miss majority of the queueing time…
When seated, we quickly ordered caffeine, I opted for an Iced Tea to start, while the girls had coffees
Chorizo Hashbrown for KSH, All American for me and Veggie All American for B
Look at the lovely runny yellow yolks!
with lots and lots of maple syrup…
I always think Brunch is the perfect start to a lazy Sunday and the queueing aside, The Breakfast Club is well worth a visit- another favourite dish of mine is the Bacon and Banana Eggy Bread… if like me, you are a sucker for sweet and savoury, this is the dish for you! Paradoxically, they also do really good cocktails, so if you swing by in the evening, be sure to sample one of them.
Find them here and remember, extra syrup with everything is a must.
